Peters, Jr. —Sr. Director- Environmental, Health & Safety <br /> waste oil are routinely generated) and in accordance with the guidelines found in <br /> Appendix A. <br /> 4.8.2 Satellite Accumulation Areas shall be located at or near the point of generation, and <br /> shall be under the control of the operator generating the Hazardous Waste. <br /> 4.8.3 DEAs shall set up, label and inspect Accumulation Containers in the Satellite <br /> Accumulation Areas. <br /> 4.8.4 All Satellite Accumulation Containers shall be labeled with a SECAT label with an <br /> accumulation start date that corresponds to the date the first amount of Hazardous <br /> Waste is added to the Accumulation Container. <br /> 4.8.5 Satellite Accumulation Containers shall be securely closed except when emptying or <br /> filling with Hazardous Waste. <br /> 4.8.6 Satellite Accumulation Containers shall be moved to the Central Accumulation Area <br /> within three (3) days of becoming full. When relocated to the Central Accumulation <br /> Area, a new SECAT label shall be printed and placed on the side of the container. <br /> 4.8.7 Flip-top metal containers such as those used for accumulating oily rags shall be <br /> permanently marked "Empty Daily." <br /> 4.8.8 Contents of"Empty Daily" containers shall be removed from the containers at the end <br /> of each day and placed into the corresponding SECAT-labeled Accumulation <br /> Container established in the Central Accumulation Area. <br /> 4.8.9 "Empty Daily"flip-top metal containers shall also be labeled with an "Empty Daily" <br /> label and with a label indicating the contents and hazard(s)of the contents (e.g., "Oily <br /> Rags, Flammable"). <br /> 4.9 Waste Containers <br /> 4.9.1 Leaking and non-leaking containers of Hazardous Waste shall be placed inside a <br /> lined secondary Accumulation Container(e.g., a lined, plastic bucket or an <br /> Accumulation Bin)that has a capacity of at least five (5)gallons (18 liters) and is <br /> labeled with a SECAT label or on an emergency basis placed on or in a device or <br /> structure designed to contain a liquid spill and with a capacity of at least 110% of the <br /> stored liquid. <br /> 4.9.2 SECAT labels shall not be applied directly to any container smaller than five (5) <br /> gallons. <br /> 4.9.3 SECAT labels shall be applied to all Accumulation Containers, to original <br /> manufacturer's containers if they are not leaking and are five (5) gallons (18 liters) in <br /> size or greater, and to boxes used for the accumulation of intact fluorescent lamps.. <br /> Any printed copy of this document is an uncontrolled document.
