Peters, Jr. —Sr. Director- Environmental, Health & Safety <br /> 4.7.6 Black Zone shall be established for the storage of flammable and/or corrosive <br /> Hazardous Waste. For all Locations, an approved flammable storage cabinet shall <br /> be located within the Black Zone and shall serve as the primary location for the <br /> storage of flammable or ignitable Hazardous Waste. <br /> 4.7.7 Yellow Zone shall be established to the Non Hazardous and/or non-RCRA hazardous <br /> and state regulated waste, and for Universal Waste (lamps or batteries). <br /> 4.7.8 Red Zone shall be established for the storage of reactive and toxic Hazardous <br /> Waste. <br /> 4.7.9 Central Accumulation Areas shall be equipped with the following items (or located <br /> within the specified distance of existing items) at a minimum: <br /> 4.7.9.1 15-minute, continuous flow or hard-plumbed emergency eyewash station <br /> located within 10 feet of the Central Accumulation Area. <br /> 4.7.9.2 Spill kit of an appropriate size (as detailed in Appendix A) located within 10 <br /> feet of the Central Accumulation Area. <br /> 4.7.9.3 A ten (10) pound ABC fire extinguisher located within 10 feet of the Central <br /> Accumulation Area. <br /> 4.7.9.4 Sturdy, sealable, cardboard boxes for 4-foot and/or 8-foot spent unbroken <br /> fluorescent lamps, based on the type and size of lamps used and/or <br /> handled by the Location. <br /> 4.7.9.5 Various approved supplies such as plastic 5-gallon (18 liter) buckets with <br /> Gamma-Seal®lids, 30-gallon or 55-gallon open-top metal drums with <br /> latching drum lids, plastic bucket and drum liners, clear adhesive plastic <br /> pouches for Hazardous Waste (SECAT) labels, clear packing tape, over- <br /> pack bags, black ink permanent markers, disposable nitrile gloves, safety <br /> goggles and a chemical-resistant apron. <br /> 4.7.10 Central Accumulation Areas shall be maintained by DEAs in an orderly and clean <br /> condition such that Hazardous Waste (SECAT) labels are clearly visible on the sides <br /> of the Accumulation Containers, Containers are properly segregated in their <br /> respective Zones, and sufficient aisle space (3' minimum) exists to inspect <br /> Containers (where applicable) so all Accumulation Containers can be readily <br /> inspected for leaks. <br /> 4.7.11 At no time shall useable or sellable products, or other unrelated supplies be stored in <br /> the Central Accumulation Area. <br /> 4.8 Satellite Accumulation Areas <br /> 4.8.1 Satellite Accumulation Areas shall be set up at or near select operations where <br /> processes regularly and routinely generate Hazardous Waste (e.g., adjacent to a <br /> workbench in a tool rental area where repairs are performed and oily rags and/or <br /> Any printed copy of this document is an uncontrolled document.
