05 February 2013
AGE-NC Project No. 04-1168-.
Page 2 of 3
elevations as measured on 17 December 2012.
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) were detected in
MWA at a concentration of 1,100 micrograms per liter (Ng/1); THP-g was not
detected in wells MW-2 and MW-3;
• Fuel oxygenate methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) was not detected in any of the
samples collected during the December 2012 monitoring event; and
• Ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in well MW-1 at concentrations of
2.1 pg/1 and 31.5 pg/I,.respectively.
No additional analytes were reported at or above laboratory detection limits in the
groundwater samples analyzed. Analytical results of the.groundwater samples collected
in December 2012 are summarized on Table 2. The laboratory report(CTEL Lab Project.
No. CT214-1212098), quality assurance/quality control report, and chain-of-custody form
are included in Appendix D. Electronic deliverable format (EDF)files and depth-to-water
data were uploaded to the State GeoTracker database; the confirmation numbers are
6709928393 and 6098133146.
4.0. CONCLUSIONS
Based upon the results of the groundwater monitoring, AGE presents the following
conclusions:
• At the time of the fourth-quarter 2012 monitoring event, the groundwater flow was
inferred to be southeast underan average hydraulic gradient of approximately 0.007
ft/ft.
• Petroleum hydrocarbon impact was detected in groundwater samples collected from
monitoring well MW-1 during the fourth quarter 2012 groundwater monitoring event;
w
hydrocarbon impact was not detected in ells MW-1 and MW-2. MTBE was not
detected in any of the samples collected during the monitoring event.
• Based on historically low concentrations detected over, the duration of the
investigation, and based on low concentrations currently reported in site wells,
additional investigation and monitoring does not appear warranted at this time.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
