06 November 2006
AGE-NC Project No 04-1168
' 4.0. SUMMARY
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE summarizes
' • At the time of the first quarter 2006 monitoring event, the ground water flow was inferred
to be south-southwest under an average hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 009 ft/ft
' • At the time of the second quarter 2006 quarterly monitoring event, the ground water flow
was Inferred to be southwest under an average hydraulic gradient of approximately
0 004 ft/ft
' • Analytical results of ground water samples MW-I through MW-3 collected on 12 June 2006
reported TPH-g in all samples at maximum concentration of 140 gg/1 In addition, the BTEX
' compound benzene was reported in sample MW-3 at 4 0 gg/l,and total xylenes was reported
in sample MW-2 at 3 4 µg/1
' • The fuel additive MTBE was reported in all ground water samples collected on 12 June
2006 at a maximum concentration of 15 gg/1 (MW-1)
• TPH-g and MTBE concentrations decreased in all monitoring wells samples during second
quarter 2006, in addition, historically reported contaminants 1,2-DCA, toluene, and ethyl-
benzene were not reported in second quarter ground water samples
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
• Each ground water monitoring well has been Impacted with hydrocarbons since Installation
The highest petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations appear to be in well MW-i at the
northeast corner of the former UST location
• The second quarter 2006 ground water monitoring event marked the first time benzene was
reported In ground water samples The benzene appeared in the well (MW-3) furthest from
and cross-gradient to the UST location
' • The vertical and lateral(Including down-gradient)extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted
ground water has not been defined
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report,AGE recommends the
continuation of the quarterly monitoring program, the next monitoring event should be performed
in December 2006
Advanced GeuEuwrunmen(a],Inc
