iL
I; • S I, rt
6. Re-excavationlret mple: Due to the depth of ground wa er expected at
approximately 45-60 feet and the small size of the tank', Jim Thorpe Oil and
registered geologist Ground Zero feel the best method Cof clean up will be re-
excavation and extend west to a point approximately 24 feet distance and a point
south approximately 5 feet from the existing excavation to a northerly point and
approximately 20 feet distance. The excavation shall be approximately 20 feet in
depth. The close proximity of a power pole (see;attached plot plan) precludes-
excavation to the east any long distance. Actual excavation limits will be
determined in the field based on conditions encountered.
The resulting excavation will be approximately 20 feet by 20 feet by 20 feet.
Total amount of spoil removed will be approximately 300 cubic yards.
!
All spoil will be placed on a 6-mil plastic and covered with same on site:- Soil
disposition decisions can be made after amounts'land contamination levels are
ascertained. Samples will be taken at the middlei'of therlength of each sidewall
approximately 2 feet up from the bottom and 5 feet above that(i.e. 7 feet from
the bottom) and at least one floor sample below the former tank location. Four
(4) samples will be taken from the spoils pile for characterization. Soil samples
will be analyzed for TPH-D,-BTEX,-totai lead, oxys (EPA 8260).. There are no
water wells in the area. !`
I
The entire project will be under the direction of Ground Zero registered
geologists. i
All reports, conclusions, and recommendations will be made by Ground Zero
showing existing excavations, proposed excavation, sample locations and plot
h plan are attached. t
7. Health and safety plan attached.
8. Timing: Sampling could be scheduled within one week following your review-of
this work plan. The sample analyses should be ready or your review within three
€ weeks after they have been taken. .
Please contact me with any concerns or questions.
Si*aci
ere'
Mart horpe /
it
Pre ident
z
E
J
f j1
f
s
f I
