1.0 INFORMATION This Health and Safety Plan (H& SP) describes basic safety requirements for the soil and groundwater exploration at the R&L Diesel Ser dees facility, located at 2417 West Lane, in Stockton California. The location of the site is shown in Figure 1. The provisions of the plan apply to the employees of Environeering, Inc. (EI), and the contractors working on this phase of the project The contractors may elect to increase the safety requirements for their work with prior concurrence of EI. I This H& SP describes the expected potential hoz ds that may be encountered on site. If the site, working conditions or scope of the wok for this phase of the project change before or during the field work, this H& SP will be revised in keeping with these changes by EI. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work for this phase of the project s described in EI's September 8, 2007 Work Plan entitled INVES77GATE THE OF CONTAMINATION ADJACENT TO AN UNDERGROUND WASTE OIL TANK C OSED INPLACE INAPRIL 1988. In summary, the field work shall include the completion of the following tasks: Advancing three (3) soil probes to various depths and securing six (6) soil samples and one (1) groundwater sample for analysis for specifi d contaminants. 3.0 GENERAL SAFE WORK PRACTICES It is El's safety policy to take every reasonable pr caution in the performance of work to protect the environment and the health and safet of employees and the public, and to prevent property damage. With respect to hazardous agents, this protection is provided by limiting exposures of people, releases to the environment, and contamination of property to levels that are as low as reasonably achievable(ALARA). It is the intent if this H& SP to supply the broad outline for completing investigation and remediation activities within ALARA.guidelines, It should be clearly understood that it Environeering,Inc.
