A list of general safety guidelines w iich are applicable include: <br /> • Wear appropriate protective clothing forte job, including, but not limited to hard <br /> hats, work clothing, safety boots, traffic vests, work gloves and eye protection. <br /> • Decontaminate known sources of contamination (such as Vgloves and boots) at the <br /> location established for decontamination. Remove equipment only after <br /> decontamination or containerization. <br /> • Keep track of weather conditions and wind direction when working outside. <br /> • Plan activities thoroughly ahead of time: enter work sites by a designated route <br /> only to get to a designated point for a specific purpose. <br /> • Always observe the buddy system: never enter or exit alone and never work alone <br /> in an isolated area. <br /> • Wash hands thoroughly upon leaving an area of suspected contamination. <br /> • Never assume that a working area is as safe as it appears to be. <br /> • Be alert to any unusual behavior on the pan of other workers which might indicate <br /> distress, disorientation or other ill effects.
