All waste generated during each procedure is discarded
immediately after use. The Practitioner uses disposable gloves at all times,
before, during and after a procedure. The procedure area is decontaminated
using a disinfectant prior to a client entering. The tray is first lined with a
disposable blue towel. Sterilized tools are laid out on the blue towel, and plastic
wrap is applied to the tattoo machine, and a plastic sleeve added to the clip cord.
Before a tattoo begins, the practitioner washes his hands, puts on disposable
gloves andrp_epares the skin (washes with soap and water) and then shaves the
area if necessary. Discarding the razor in the sharp container. Disposable ink
cups are used during the tattoo, once complete all waste is disposed of; used
needle are placed in the sharp container located in each procedure room. Needle
tubes and Piercing tools are placed in containers containing madacide. All
Procedure rooms are decontaminated after and before all procedures using a
disinfectant per manufactures directions.
F. Sharp Containers: (Ca. health and safety code 119314)
Each procedure room has a portable sharp container that is hung on the wall for
safe disposal. It is labeled `SHARP WASTE' and with the international biohazard
symbol and the word `BIOHAZARD'. When Placing used sharps into the
container ensure all contents actually pass the plastic flap and enter the
container. Once a container is two-thirds full it should be sealed and then a
medical waste service is called for proper disposal. The also Iso provide a new
container at the time of pickup. The frequency for disposal service varies and
depends on work load.
