*After Care Instructions for :
Labrets (Lips, Monroes), Tongues
❖ Always wash your hands before touching your piercing to
minimize risk factors.
❖ Rinse with diluted Listerine (dilute with 50%bottled water)
after eating or drinking anything other than bottled water,
In addition, you may use Gly-oxide if you choose to.
❖ Ice, Ice cream or milkshakes and Ibuprofen may help minimize
swelling.
❖ Rinse after any contact with foreign body fluids such as
kissing, etc.
❖ Check the jewelry balls often; they may come loose and need
to be tightened.
❖ Pain, redness and irritation may be reduced by warm sea salt
soaks. Rinse mouth with 1/a teaspoon of sea salt dissolved in 8
oz. of warm water for 30 seconds. For Labret, use a cotton ball
dipped in salt water as a compress. This will speed the healing
process. Do not discontinue cleaning with Listerine.
❖ For Labrets, clean dried matter from around piercing on
outside of mouth with a Q-tip and warm water or Bactine.
❖ Do NOT use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or antibiotic
ointments. AVOID letting makeup, body lotions, etc get inside
the piercing.
❖ For Labrets, apply piercing solution 2-4 times a day to outside
of mouth. You may use liquid Dial Antibacterial soap if you
prefer. Lather soap well before applying and rinse thoroughly.
❖ For Tongues; eat soft foods for the first few days. AVOID hot
or spicy foods. Drink Slim-Fast or shakes if you cannot eat.
❖ Do NOT remove Jewelry; your piercing will close quickly.
❖ A multi-vitamin with zinc may help you heal faster.
❖ Healing time is 2 weeks for Tongues; 6-8 weeks for Labrets.
❖ After 4 Weeks, replace jewelry with a shorter barbell to reduce
the risk of cracked or chipped teeth.
❖ Seek medical care if any signs or symptoms of infection occur.
ie QUESTIONS?
