0 0 <br /> After Car Instructions for <br /> Navels and Nipples <br /> ❖ Always wash your hands before touching your piercing to <br /> minimize risk factors. <br /> ❖ Clean dried matter from around piercing with a Q-tip and warm <br /> water. <br /> ❖ Wash piercing twice a day in the shower with Bactine or Liquid <br /> Dial Antibacterial soap. Lather soap well and apply to piercing, <br /> moving ring back and forth at least six times. After 30 seconds, <br /> rinse thoroughly, turning ring at least six times. <br /> ❖ AVOID tight clothing and belts over your belly button during <br /> the healing process. <br /> ❖ Do NOT use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or antibiotic <br /> ointments. AVOID letting oils, lotions, etc. get inside the <br /> piercing. <br /> ❖ AVOID swimming, hot tubs, etc. for at least ONE month. After <br /> that use a waterproof bandage, such as Tegaderm with a little <br /> ointment to repel water. Clean well with antibacterial soap. <br /> ❖ For Nipple Piercings; you may be more comfortable at night if <br /> you wear a tight tank top or sports bra for sleep time. <br /> ❖ Pain, redness and irritation may be reduced by warm sea salt <br /> soaks. Soak piercing by inverting the cup over the piercing or <br /> using a cotton ball as a compress. Use '/4 teaspoon of sea salt <br /> dissolved in 8 oz. of warm water for 5 -10 minutes This will <br /> speed the healing process. Do NOT discontinue cleaning with <br /> antibacterial soap. <br /> ❖ Do NOT remove Jewelry; Your piercing will close quickly. <br /> ❖ You may use ibuprofen for swelling and discomfort. <br /> ❖ A multi-vitamin with zinc may help you heal faster. <br /> ❖ Wait at least 3 months before changing the jewelry. <br /> ❖ Healing time is 6-12 months. <br /> ❖ Seek medical care, if signs of infection occur, including but not <br /> limited to; elevated body temp, swelling, red lines from piercing <br /> to heart, or purulent drainage from piercing. <br /> ❖ QUESTIONS?
