Remove PPE , gloves last turning inside out . Wash hands <br /> for 30 seconds . Put new PPE on . Disinfect entire workstation using germicidal wipes . Remove <br /> and discard PPE . Prevention of Cross Contamination : Describe the techniques used to prevent the <br /> contamination of instruments , tattoo machine , trays , tables , chairs , clip cords , power supplies , <br /> squeeze bottles , inks , pigments , lamps , stools , soaps and the procedure site or other items <br /> during a body art procedure . Include barriers provided to prevent cross contamination . <br /> Describe how the procedure site is prepared for a body art procedure . Set up should always <br /> begin with hand hygiene . Ungloved tasks : Turn on power supply. Cover power supply <br /> adjustment knob with barrier film . If you know you will be adjusting light , place a piece of barrier <br /> film on it so you can adjust it without removing gloves . Loosen lids on containers for any <br /> other items or supplies you will use for the procedure should have the lids loosened so you can <br /> open them with one hand . Put on a disposable apron . Assemble items to be used . Pick up sterile tubes , blades , <br /> tools , etc with theIg oved hand . Check the integrity of the packaging on each item and place it <br /> on the set- up area . Bagging the wash bottle . Holding the wash bottle with the ungloved <br /> hand , bag it so the bottom is covered and the nozzle is through the top of the barrier bag . <br /> Dispense supplies . Dispense your A & D ointment into the container and place on the set - up <br /> area . Place enough paper towels , cotton rounds or wipes to complete the entire <br />
