Infection i <br /> Section 2 <br /> Procedures for decontaminating, packaging, sterilizing and storing reusable instruments <br /> An instrument or other reusable item that comes into contact with non-intact skin or mucosal <br /> surfaces shall either be single use or be washed, disinfected, packaged and sterilized after <br /> every procedure. <br /> Description of how instruments and other reusable items will be washed, disinfected and <br /> packaged: Procedure tray and chair are wiped down with sani-cloths <br /> List of all personal protective equipment (PPE) used when cleaning and washing instruments <br /> and equipment: Eyewear, mask <br /> An instrument or reusable item that does not come into contact with non-intact skin or mucosal <br /> surfaces shall be washed with a solution of soap and water, using a brush that is small enough <br /> to clean the interior surfaces and decontaminate after each procedure. A reusable item that <br /> cannot be immediately washed, disinfected and sterilized following the completion of the body <br /> art procedure shall be placed in a basin of water with or without detergent. <br /> Description of type of container used for storing instruments when soaking or washing, and <br /> solution used: I do not soak or wash anything as ever tX hing I use is disposable. All surfaces <br /> are wiped down with EPA approved solution. <br /> Location of soaking instruments: N/A <br /> List of chemicals (Non EPA registered solutions) used in this facility: None <br /> **All chemical bottles are labeled <br /> **MSDS for all chemicals are stored at front desk <br /> Sterile instrument packs are evaluated prior to use: Check date lot numbers make sure <br /> packaging is sealed and shows sterile number <br /> **Sterile instruments are opened in front of the customer prior to the procedure <br /> **Only instruments that are brand new and have never before been used on any other person <br /> and are contained in a brand new sterilized pack shall be used. Check the sterilization number <br /> on the packaging and make sure there are no damages to the packaging. If the package is <br /> opened prior to use on a client it is to be discarded in a sharps container and a new sealed <br /> instrument is to be used instead. <br />
