01 0 <br />ANESTHETIC AGENTS <br />Substances covered: <br />• Enflurane (Ethrane) <br />• Isoflurane (Forane) <br />• Halothane <br />• Suprane <br />Health hazards: <br />• Contact with eyes and skin may cause irritation, dryness, and redness. <br />• Inhalation may cause irritation of the mouth and throat. <br />• Overexposure can lead to headaches, dizziness/drowsiness, unconsciousness and death. <br />Physical Hazards: <br />• Liquid anesthetic agents evaporate quickly into gases. Avoid evaporation. <br />Equipment Needed: <br />Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): <br />• Foot Covers <br />• Gloves (double nitrile) <br />• Impervious Apron <br />Control Materials: <br />• Ampho-Mag Neutralizer <br />• Chemical Absorbent Pads or Pillows <br />• Halogen Leak Detector <br />• Shovel or Paddle (non -sparking) <br />• Hand Pump & Detector Tubes <br />• Leak Proof Containers <br />1.
