11 <br />C: <br />► ► 1 §14 <br />LIQUID OXYGEN <br />Substances covered: <br />Liquid Oxygen <br />Health hazards: <br />• Liquid oxygen can cause severe frostbite and burns <br />• Prolonged breathing of a very cold atmosphere can produce lung damage <br />• Clothing on which liquid oxygen has released can pose serious threat of fire or explosion. <br />Physical Hazards: <br />• Explosive <br />• Oxidizer <br />Equipment Needed: <br />Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): <br />• Thermal Insulated Gloves (liquid oxygen) <br />• Coveralls <br />• Full Face Shield and Safety Goggles <br />Control Materials: <br />• Physical Barriers <br />• Water <br />• Emergency Response Plan (with knowledge of the area and community). <br />1.
