SAFETY MANAGEMENT OGRAM LICY/PROCEDURE A UAL <br />TITLE: HAZARDOUS WASTE CONTINGENCY PLAN <br />PAGE 13 OF 14 <br />facility, properties of hazardous waste handled at the facility and <br />associated hazards, places where facility personnel would normally be <br />working, entrances to roads inside the facility, and possible evacuation <br />routes; <br />Where more than one police and fire department might respond to an <br />emergency, agreements designating primary emergency authority to a <br />specific police and a specific fire department, and agreements with any <br />others to provide support to the primary emergency authority; <br />Agreements with State emergency response teams, emergency response <br />contractors, and equipment suppliers; and <br />Arrangements to familiarize local hospitals with the properties of <br />hazardous waste handled at the facility and the types of injuries or illnesses <br />that could result from fires, explosions, or releases at the facility. <br />Where State or local authorities decline to enter into such arrangements, <br />the administrator (or designee) shall document the refusal. <br />Emergency equipment includes the following items <br />Fire extinguishers are A, B, C extinguishers and are located throughout the <br />facility (see Attachment B with list of exact locations.) Extinguishers are operated <br />by, 1. Holding the extinguisher upright and pulling the ring, 2. Starting back 8 <br />feet, and aiming nozzle at base of fire, 3. Squeezing the lever and sweeping side <br />to side until the fire is extinguished. <br />The smoke and fire alarm is both manually and electrically operated and will <br />automatically send an alarm to the appropriate Fire Department. The automatic <br />sprinkler system is connected to the fire alarm system. The main panels for the <br />alarm in the Stockton Medical Office is in the front lobby with an additional panel <br />in Central Plant. For Manteca, the panel is in the front lobby. In the Tommydon <br />Building in Stockton, the main panel is in the electrical distribution room with a <br />smaller panel near the security desk.
