SAFETY • r • 1 i W P \. / \ Irl 4 <br />TITLE: HAZARDOUS WASTE CONTINGENCY PLAN <br />PAGE 14 OF 14 <br />An overhead paging system is available in the Stockton and Manteca Medical <br />Office Buildings and is located in the Communications Department with speakers <br />throughout the facility. <br />Spill control equipment is located in key areas throughout the clinics including all <br />pharmacies, ambulatory surgery, radiology, Medicine 1, the ambulatory surgery <br />center, laboratory, infusion clinic and the EVS storage room. Contents of the <br />spill kit include: a berm, PPE, absorbent pads, collection bags, blank hazardous <br />materiel labels, and pens. The procedure for use is: <br />• Open Spill Kit, remove safety glasses, gloves, disposable boots, and <br />put them on. <br />• Use berm to contain spill as needed. <br />• Remove absorbent pads and clean up spill. <br />• Place saturated pads into disposal bags provided. <br />• Using marking pen and labels provided, clearly indicate the material <br />that was spilled, providing a s much information as possible from the <br />container that held the liquid. <br />• Using the bag closure on the label, tightly secure the bag for safe <br />disposal. <br />• Dispose of according to normal procedure. <br />Developed by: Safety committee, N.
