All personnel performing sterilization activities will <br />follow the procedure for incubation and reading of all biological indicators. <br />1. Always leave the 3MTM AttestTM Auto -reader plugged in. If found unplugged, allow <br />30 minutes warm up time. <br />2. Utilize biological indicator 1296 Rapid Readout tubes. <br />3. Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), when operating the machine. <br />• Safety Goggles <br />• Heat Resistant Gloves <br />4. Load the Sani-Pak chamber half way with red bags enclosed in autoclavable bags. <br />(Each autoclave bag must be punctured for ventilation). Place biological indicator test <br />pack on top bag in the center of the load. Run cycle. <br />5. The sterilized tube test pack is removed from the SaniPak and the test pack is allowed <br />to cool prior to handling and processing. <br />6. Be sure to use tubes from the same manufacturer, date and lot number for each test. <br />(Example: lot # 2006-01 AK, which means the lot expires January 2006). <br />
