In the event of positive testing a secondary test load will be ran and no future loads <br />shall be autoclaved pending results of secondary load. If this load is also positive, <br />Engineering will be contacted for repairs and untreated infectious waste will be <br />placed in Stericycle Tubs, for possible off-site waste treatment, until the Sani-Pak is <br />operational again. <br />Readout Procedure: <br />• While wearing PPE, close the biological cap by pressing down. <br />• Crush the glass ampule in the designated crushing well built into the indicator. <br />Sterile Processing Policy and Procedure <br />• Hold the biological indicator by the cap and tap bottom of vial on countertop until <br />growth media wets spore strip at bottom of vial. <br />• Place biological indicator in well. Do not detach once placed in well. The test will <br />be invalid. <br />• Close the cover and wait for results (at least up to 3 hours and up to 48 hours). <br />IIUWAMif] , VZVOI U.1 `Iil�lil. <br />• Negative Results ( green light) : Indicates an acceptable sterilization process. Test <br />results will be read after 3 hours and up 48 hours. Control tube will be red, positive <br />and sterilized tube should ALWAYS be GREEN, NEGATIVE. <br />• Positive results (red light +): Indicates an unacceptable sterilization process. <br />Control tube will ALWAYS be RED, POSITIVE and sterilization tube will be RED, <br />POSITIVE. <br />THESE RESULTS SHOULD ALWAYS BEREPORTED TO MANAGEMENT. <br />• All positive results should be reported to EVS Manager, Safety Officer and <br />Engineering immediately. <br />
