Medical Waste Management Plan <br /> Kaiser Permanente —Tracy Medical Office Building <br /> 1/01/11-12/31/11 <br /> Trace Chemotherapy wastes–A container is considered <br /> trace chemotherapy waste if: <br /> 1. Empty drug vial <br /> Non-IRCRA Pharmaceutical wastes–waste pharmaceuticals Marked with an <br /> which are not federally hazardous(non- CA), radioactive or "Incineration Only" <br /> classified as municipal solid waste(trash). sticker. <br /> Label is placed on the <br /> lid and on the sides, so <br /> as to be visible from <br /> any lateral direction <br /> (b) Storage area description with storage methods utilized, including duration and <br /> temperature,if applicable. <br /> • The facility maintains a secured area for storage of biohazardous waste <br /> pending disposal. <br /> • The storage area is marked with warnings that read in English and Spanish <br /> "Caution biohazardous Waste Storage Area—Unauthorized Persons Keep <br /> Out". <br /> • These signs are legible from a distance of at least 25 feet. <br /> • Biohazardous waste shall not be stored on-site for more than seven days prior <br /> to disposal. <br /> (c) Onsite treatment facility description, including type of treatment utilized <br /> maximum capacity,time and temperature necessary, alternate contingency plan <br /> in case of equipment failure. <br /> • Currently do not conduct onsite treatment of medical waste.
