I <br />Stockton Surgery Center <br />Facilities & Environment Manual <br />Section: Hazardous Materials <br />Title: Hazard Communication Regulation Exceptions <br />Policy # <br />OBJECTIVE <br />• To define exceptions of the Hazard Communication Regulation by the General Indushy Safety <br />Orders <br />POLICY <br />The Hazard Communication Standard does NOT apply to: <br />Any hazardous wastes regulated by the EPA <br />2. Tobacco or tobacco products. <br />3. Wood or wood products. <br />4. Articles (hazardous substances used in the manufacture or use of an article are covered by this <br />section unless otherwise excluded) <br />5. Food, drugs, cosmetics, or alcoholic beverages which are packaged for sale to consumers. <br />6. Food, drugs, or cosmetics intended for personal consumption by employees while in the <br />workplace. <br />7. Any consumer product or hazardous substance as defined in the Consumer Product Safety Act or <br />Federal Hazardous Substance Act where the employer can demonstrate it is used in the same <br />manner as normal consumer use, and which use results in a duration and frequency of exposure <br />which is not greater than exposures experienced by consumers. <br />8.
