n <br />Stockton Surgery Center <br />Facilities & Environment Manual <br />Section: Hazardous Materials <br />Title: Employee Exposure to Chemicals <br />Policy # <br />OBJECTIVE <br />1 ?Qj't_ z� <br />To determine the level of monitoring of employee exposure to chemicals. To outline procedure for initial <br />and on-going employee information and training regarding hazardous substances <br />PROCEDURE <br />1. Employees working with radiation wear passive monitoring badges to determine exposure. <br />Results of the badge testing will be reviewed by the Safety Officer (and employee, if indicated). <br />2. Information and training on hazardous substances will be provided at the time of initial <br />assignment and when a new hazardous substance is introduced into the workplace. <br />Information and training to be provided will include: <br />a. requirements of the Hazard Communication Regulation <br />b. information on the location and training on the details of the Written Hazard <br />Communication Program (i.e., how to read and understand MSDS and labels) <br />C. identification of any operations where hazardous substances are present <br />d, physical and health hazards of the hazardous substances as provided on the MSDS <br />e. protective measures to be used, such as work practices, personal protective equipment <br />and emergency procedures <br />f, steps this facility has taken to lessen or prevent exposure to these substances. <br />Employees will be informed of any hazards to which they may be exposed while performing non- <br />routine tasks. <br />5.
