Pleurivacs <br />6. Suction bottles and tubing <br />7. Respriator and IPPB tubing <br />8. All IV lines, arterial lines, ie...swans, ganz, <br />temporary pacemaker lines etc.. <br />9. All trash from Surgery Suites, G.I.Lab, Labor & <br />Delivery rooms and E.R. rooms. <br />Policy: To separate all waste types at the point of origen, to it's <br />properly disposed of in the appropriate manner and according <br />to policy and procedure. <br />Procedure: <br />1. <br />The <br />Environmental Tech will pick-up the infectious waste <br />in <br />red bags and double bag in the red bags. <br />2. <br />The <br />bags will be securely tied and shall meet the dart <br />test <br />as required by law. <br />3. <br />All <br />infectious waste will be relocated in a specific cart <br />used <br />for infectious waste only. <br />4. <br />The <br />double bagged waste will then be placed into an auto <br />clave <br />bag and either placed directly into the auto clave <br />or <br />in an infectious waste cart and locked until it can <br />be <br />sterilized. <br />5. <br />The <br />sharps containers are placed into boxes provided by <br />the <br />haulers and kept in a locked area appropriately marked <br />until <br />the hauler picks them up. <br />6. <br />The <br />infectious waste from the Conrad Building and L.M.H.W. <br />are <br />placed in boxes furnished by the hauler and picked up <br />on <br />a regular schedule. This is kept locked with the sharps. <br />7. <br />All <br />waste considered regular waste is placed directly into <br />the <br />compactor. <br />8. <br />The <br />chemo containers are placed into boxes furnished by <br />the <br />licensed hauler and picked up on a regular schedule <br />and <br />is kept locked up in P. holding area. <br />
