The storage containers will be picked -up by -Bf <br />;,4-' , intact (as a unit) , as often a <br />required, but often enough to avoid the putrification of the <br />waste contained therein. Pick up will be one (1) time per <br />week. <br />8. If the container is reusable, it will be thoroughly washed and <br />decontaminated each time it is emptied, unless the surfaces <br />have been completely protected from contamination by disposable <br />11 ners (red bags) . <br />9. If washing and decontamination is required, the container will <br />be washed and disinfected by exposure to hot water of 180 <br />degrees for at least fifteen (15) seconds, or exposur- <br />• - <br />orite Sol (500 ppm chlorine) for three (3) minutes, or <br />exposure to NPD or equivalent solution (400 ppm active agent) <br />for three (3) minutes. <br />10. Each new employee will receive an indepth orientation in the <br />procedure for the in-house collection, transportation, and/or <br />storage of infectious waste at this institution prior to <br />his/her first day on the job. Continual in-service training <br />will be the responsiblity of the person in charge of this area. <br />11.
