This area <br />will be well ventilated and kept clean at all times. (If the sign is charged <br />or moved, there will be a new sign with the word "biohazard" instead o- <br />"infectious-.) <br />S. The storage containers will be picked -up intact (as a unit), as often a <br />required, but often enough to avoid the putrification of the waste contained <br />therein_ pick uo will be one (1) time per week (every seven (7) days) bv: <br />xy <br />(Flame of Medical/Biohazard Waste Disposal Company) <br />6. If the container, is reusable, it will be thoroughly washed and <br />decontaminated each time it is emptied, unless the surfaces have been <br />completely protected from contamination by disposable liners (red biohazard <br />bags). <br />7. The reusable containers, even though are always lined with "red" biohazard <br />bags, will be cleaned and decontaminated once each week. <br />8. When washing and decontamination is required, the container will be washed <br />and disinfected by agitation to remove visible soil combined with exposure <br />to a chemical santizer by rinsing with or immersion in, one of the following <br />for a minimum of three (3) minutes. <br />A. Hypochlorite solution (500 ppm. available chlorine) (household bleach <br />diluted 1:10 with wa)ter) <br />B. Quarternary ammonium solution (400 ppm. active agent) <br />9. Medical waste leaks or spills will be cleaned by agitation to remove visible <br />soil combined with exposure to a chemical sanitizer by rinsing with or <br />immersion in one of the following for a minimum of three (3) minutes: <br />A. Each new employee will receive an orientation at time of hire in the <br />procedure for the in-house collection, tr=n=,;z�=tation, and/or storage of <br />"biohazard" waste at this facility prior to his/her first day on the-ob. <br />Continual in-service training will be the responsibility of the perso:� in <br />charge of this area to all staff. <br />11. The local Director of Health will be promptly notified if this "Individual <br />Plan For Off-site Biohazard Waste Disposal" is either discontinued or <br />altered. <br />12. Accurate records will be maintained relative to containment, storage, <br />hauling, treatment and disposal.
