Water Disinfection for Farm, Institution, and Campground Water
Supplies—to disinfect water from unprotected supplies such as wells,
springs, and lakes, add 1/4 oz. LIQU-A-KLOR to each 100 gallons
of water or 10 drops to each gallon and let it stand for 15 to 30
minutes. This is a strength of about 1 ppm available chlorine.
Farm Dairy Utensils—Just before using, rinse all utensils including
can covers with a mixture of 1 oz. LIQU-A-KLOR to each 2 gallons
of water. This solution contains 200 ppm available chlorine.
Milk Plant Equipment—Flow Method—Mix 1 oz. LIQU-A-KLOR to
each 4 gallons of water. This solution contains 100 ppm available
chlorine. Pump the solution from weigh vat through to filler, drain-
ing solution through valves. A starting concentration of 100 ppm
available chlorine can be used if testing facilities are available, test
solution frequently with a chlorine test kit to prevent the concentra-
tion from falling below 50 ppm. If no test kit is available a starting
concentration of 200 ppm is recommended.
Spray Method—Spray all surfaces with a mixture of 2 oz. LIQU-A-
KLOR to each 4 gallons of water. Solution contains 200 ppm available
chlorine.
Cleaned -In -Place Milk Lines—Mix 1 oz. LIQU-A-KLOR to each 4
LI0,1 I-A.KLOR per each 10,000 nannns of wafar in nrovirlp a n 4 narts
per million and continue adding increments of 1 oz. until a chlorine
residual of 0.6 to 1.0 ppm has been established as determined by
the use of a chlorine test kit. Every 1-2 weeks, a super chlorination
dosage of 10 fluid ozs. of LIQU-A-KLOR per 1,000 gallons should
be applied to control growth of algae. Maintain this chlorine level
at all times.
Commercial Laundering, Bleaching and Sanitizing White and
Color -Fast Cotton and Linen—Add 1 cup LIQU-A-KLOR with
detergent before immersing cloths.
Front Loading Machines ... add LIQU-A-KLOR to water, pour in at wash
2. Wash with suitable DuBois mechanical warewashing machine
product for complete soil removal. LIQU-A-KLOR degrades with
age. Test rinse periodically with a chlorine test kit and adjust
dispensing rate, as necessary to insure a minimum of 50 ppm
of available chlorine.
3. Feed LIQU-A-KLOR using an approved automatic dispenser that
will provide a minimum of 100 ppm of available chlorine in all
rinse water of at least 120eF. (4900.) that contacts dish surfaces.
An available chlorine level of 100 ppm corresponds to a LIQU-A-
KLOR concentration of V4 ounce per gallon (2 ml/liter).
4. Remove rack from machine and allow utensils to air dry.
B. Chemical Sanitizing—Manual Warewashing.
1. Pre -scrape and pre -flush articles to be washed.
