Any individual that has <br />been exposed will follow the blood pathogen exposure policy & procedure. <br />i) Controlled substances are wasted with the director of nursing and pharmacist in compliance with the <br />DEA requirements, waste is placed into container labeled "Hazardous waste". A binder with a <br />destruction log is maintained by the director of nursing. In -Services are provided to staff regarding <br />infection control and blood borne pathogens. Licensed staff is oriented to the proper disposal of <br />pharmaceutical waste to approved waste containers.
