72645 SOLID WASTE IINERS <br /> POLICY: <br /> 72645 (a) All containers except movable bins used for storage of solid <br /> wastes, have tight-fitting covers in good repair, external <br /> handles, and are leakproof and rodent proof. <br /> (b) An enclosed dumpster is used for storing and t-ransporting solid <br /> wastes from the premises and have approval of the 'Local health <br /> department. Such approval will be found in the Infection Control <br /> Manual. <br /> (c) All containers receiving contaminated wastes are emptied <br /> three (3) times weekly. <br /> (d) Solid waste containers are thoroughly washed and cleaned each <br /> time they are emptied unless soil contact surfaces have been <br /> completely protected from contamination. by disposable liners, <br /> bags or other devices removed with the waste. <br /> (e) Infectious wastes as defined in Section 72647 are stored <br /> separately from other solid wastes unless combined storage <br /> is approved by the local health department. <br /> 72645 SOLID VUGM CCNTAINERS <br /> PROCEDLiM <br /> 72645 (a) Our solid waste containers, 55 gallon size, have t-J_.crht-fJ.+_--'__Jng. <br /> covers with external clamps. They are kept in good repa-,r and <br /> are leakproof and rodent proof. <br /> (b) Our movable bins that. are used for storing and transport-Lng <br /> solid wastes from the premises have approval of the 1 a health <br /> department. <br /> (c) All containers receiving contaminated wastes are effp-t-led <br /> frequently by housekeepers. <br /> (d) Solid waste containers are thoroughly washed and cleaned each <br /> time they are ,emptied unless it contact surfaces have been <br /> completely protected from contamination by disposable liners. <br /> They are hosed out with hot water from a high pressure hose <br /> into the drainage system in back of facility. They are relined <br /> with a heavy duty plastic bag d returned to their place of <br /> origin. <br />
