Heavy duty plastic bags
Wine all garbage containers. Containers are emptied
frequently by housekeepers. Barrels are cleaned with A-313.
(b) Procedure for disposal:
(1) The plasticbags of solid waste are taken to compacting
area by housekeepers and compacted by maintenance and
disposed of in the 'enclosed type dumpster' .
(2) The Stockton Scavenger Disposal Company, per contract,
picks-up the garbage three (3) times weekly.
(3) The plastic containers are hosed out with hot water from
a high pressure hose into the drainage system; sprayed
with A-33; relined with a heavy duty plastic bag and
returned to their place of origin by the housekeepers.
(c) Disposi-ng of used syringes and needles as required by State
Law and regulations:
(1) Needles must be broken at the hilt after use by in
the Destruclip - the first in the small cutting hole and
second in the large cutting hole to break the suction
ability of the syringe.
(2) The barrel of the syringe must be broken or twisted by
hand to destroy suction ability of the syringe.
(3) Syringes and needles are periodically (when destruclip
container is about 1/2 full) discarded into one of the
boxes the syringes and needles come in, The needles
and "ALL SHARPS" are kept in the heavy waxed for plastic
denture cup) container until 1/2 full. A tight lid is
placed on the cup and put in the box with the discarded
syringes. The box is taped shut and then labeled
s. ti waste and given to the janitor to dispose of
3 times weekly. The procedure prevents the needles from
pierceing the plastic bag used to carry them from the
facility.
