A red bag will be affixed to the treatment cart. All used <br /> dressings will be placed in the red bag. <br /> 2. At the end of the shift, or sooner if necessary, the nurse will. Lie <br /> the bag and deposit it in the "Infectious Waste" container that <br /> will be kept in the soiled utility room. <br /> 3. The "Infectious Waste" container in the soiled utility room <br /> will be lined with a red bag, labeled as infec=tious waste, <br /> and will be secure from patients or unauthori-;:ed persons. <br /> PROCEDURE FOR DISPOSAL OF SYRINGES <br /> 1. A container will be kept on the top of each nit-d r-sirt to <br /> place used syringes and needles.
