Delta Blood Bank 65 N.Commerce St. Stockton,CA 95202 <br /> Safety Program <br /> s Section 1030 Medical Waste Management Plan (Rev 2/04) Page 2 of 2 <br /> 4.3 The medical waste is treated by Stericycle. <br /> 5.0 This section defines how medical waste is transported from an offsite location. <br /> 5.1 Delta Blood Bank holds a Limited Quantity Hauling exemption which allows <br /> authorized employees to transport less than 20 pounds of medical waste at any <br /> one time. <br /> 5.2 The list of employees authorized to transport medical waste is kept in the Office <br /> of Compliance. <br /> 5.3 When the medical waste is brought back to the facility, the medical waste log is <br /> completed with the following information: <br /> 5.3.1 Date of transport <br /> 5.3.2 Offsite location <br /> 5.3.3 Type of medical waste <br /> 5.3.4 Weight of the medical waste <br /> 5.3.5 Bin tracking # provided by the registered handler <br /> 5.3.6 Transporter's name <br /> 6.0 This section addresses the procedures for the medical waste emergency action plan. <br /> 6.1 For spills, procedures outlined in Delta Blood Bank's Safety Manual section 300 <br /> are followed. <br /> 6.2 For exposure, procedures outlined in Delta Blood Bank's Safety Manual section <br /> 1010 are followed. <br /> 7.0 References <br /> 1.
