At the Conclusion of Each Service Call, Medical Waste Contractor Shall: <br />1. Remove all medical wastes according to the scheduled timeframe specified under <br />"Transportation of Medical Waste to Disposal Area". <br />2. Clean and disinfect each storage bin, locker and/or area; as needed, maintain designated <br />medical waste sites free of medical waste spills and any debris related to the pickup of <br />medical waste. <br />3. Inspect all designated medical waste containers to ensure compliance with Health Care <br />Services Division, Chapter 9, commencing with Section 118275. The institution will <br />conduct periodic inspection of the storage bins and lockers and its immediate area. <br />Contractor shall immediately correct all unsanitary conditions or deficiencies as noted by <br />institution inspections. <br />4. Provide a completed medical waste tracking document at the time of each pick-up, <br />pursuant to HSC, Chapter 6, Section 118040. The document shall be properly executed, <br />signed and dated by the Supervising Registered Nurse II or designee and the waste hauler <br />at each of the institution locations. Only the Supervising Registered Nurse II or <br />Correctional Health Services Administrator I or designee shall review and sign the <br />original manifest (for billing authorization) prior to shipment of medical waste. <br />Within fifteen (15) calendar days after medical waste pick up, a copy of the manifest with <br />the disposal site information section completed shall be furnished to Cynthia Fedrick, <br />Correctional Health Services Administrator I, or designee. Invoices will be processed <br />upon receipt by the Correctional Health Services Administrator I or designee to include, a <br />copy of the treatment, storage and disposal (TSD) facility manifest, establishing <br />acceptance of the waste at the disposal site, and the Certificate of Disposal from the <br />ultimate disposal facility. <br />5. Contractor shall provide an official scale, approved by the State Departrpent of Food and <br />i Agriculture Measurement Standards Division, to weigh medical waste: Contractor is <br />responsible for weighing all medical waste at the institution prior to transport. Contractor <br />shall report the total pounds picked up to the institution liaison prior to transport. <br />H. Cleaning and decontaminating spills of blood or body fluids <br />Disposable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): <br />• Domestic or latex gloves. <br />• Protective eyewear. <br />• Face mask. <br />• Gown or plastic apron. <br />• Antiseptic towelettes. <br />l�§ <br />
