A
f '
The Nest Water System
Page 2
contiguous with the annular seal. The seal shall be graded to allow for drainage away from the
well casing in all directions. The seal shall extend two feet in all directions from the well casing.
The well casing shall extend minimum of an inch above the pedestal. The well and
appurtenances shall be located in a locked enclosure to exclude access by unauthorized persons.
(per Water Well Standards State of California Bulletin 74-81)
The following issues are not conditions of the TNWS water permit but are concerns of EHD that should
be considered.
1. EHD would encourage TNWS to incorporate a flow meter on the well. It can be a useful tool in
the overall water-monitoring program. It is a helpful tool to determine periods of high demands
that are acceptable and non-acceptable(leak detection).
2. EHD strongly encourages TNWS to secure the well site with fencing in a manner that will
provide staff s access for maintenance and operation.
3. EHD strongly encourages water line(s)for domestic use (i.e.hand washing, toilets, showers,
break rooms, drinking faucets, food preparation sinks, emergency wash sinks/showers and the
like)be separated at the well from the water line(s)that will supply industrial, irrigation,or fire
suppression uses. An appropriate back-flow prevention assembly shall be installed on the non-
domestic use water line(s)
For final approval for TNWS to place the system into service an inspection of the facility's distribution
system and new water source by EHD must be arranged. Call Adrienne Ellsaesser at(209)468-0343 or
Willy Ng at(209)468-3448 to schedule an inspection.
Please be aware that you will be billed at a rate o $89 per hour for any further enforcement activity
required.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department
Adrienne Ellsaesser,Lead Senior REHS Margar Lagorio, S
Small Public Water System Program,Unit IV Unit IV, Supervisor
