The procedures are intended to allow
for the rapid shut down of major manufacturing equipment or processes without undue
endangerment to employees and/or contractors during an evacuation.
Once the emergency is over and approval is given for employees and/or contractors to
reenter the facility, procedures are needed to bring any equipment and/or process
back on line. Start up procedures will also be developed. Each department will be
responsible for emergency shutdown/startup training.
IIf'.7ji►f►Cl
New employees will receive this training as part of their initial new employee training.
Annual refresher training will be provided to all employees.
Training at a minimum will consist of the following:
know where the assembly areas are located
know evacuation procedures
Additional training will be given to employees designated as emergency shut
down/start up personnel. Training should consist of identifying what procedures are to
be taken for the shut down/start up of equipment/process and responsibility of each
team member. Annual refresher training will be given to these employees.
EVACUATION DRILLS
The facility will conduct partial or plant wide evacuation drill(s) on an annual basis.
Where appropriate, the drill(s) will allow each department to practice emergency shut
down/start up procedures. The drill(s) will be held for all shifts and upon completion,
Management will make assessment of the drill(s) and prepare recommendations for
improvements if warranted.
H:\profile\My Documents\500 E. louise ave (CIA LOF)\9-25-13\90985003 Emergency Response Procedures.doc
Page 14 of 67
Paper Copies are Not Controlled unless stamped in RED "Controlled Document".
