UOQ Document Number: 909 R 5003 <br />GROUP <br />Procedure Rev: 12 Date: 1/22/13 <br />EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES <br />BOMB THREAT PROCEDURE <br />The objectives of Pilkington's Bomb Threat response procedures are to: <br />• Assure all Pilkington employees and property are protected to the fullest <br />extent possible; and <br />• Assure that any public relations inquiries that arise as a result of the situation <br />are handled in the best interest of Pilkington. <br />If you receive a bomb threat: <br />1. be courteous. Ask the caller to repeat the message. <br />2. Use the "Bomb Threat" checklist <br />3. Keep the caller talking as long as possible. <br />4. Write down the callers "Exact Words", if possible. Take notes. <br />5. Listen carefully to the caller's voice (tone, accent, and grammar). Pay attention to <br />any background noises. <br />6. Do not hang up the phone: even after the caller hangs up. Immediately go to <br />another phone and contact at least one of the following people in order to report the <br />threat: <br />Plant Manager <br />Human Resources Manager <br />Safety Manager <br />Shift Manager <br />Security/ Guardhouse <br />Do not use radio communications in the event of a bomb threat! <br />H:\profile\My Documents\500 E. louise ave (CIA LOF)\9-25-13\909R5003 Emergency Response Procedures.doc <br />Page 53 of 67 <br />Paper Copies are Not Controlled unless stamped in RED "Controlled Document".
