KLEINFELDER <br /> 2. Ten to 15 feet of 2-inch-diameter well screen will be set in the bottom of the <br /> boring through the center of the -auger. The screen will be 2-inch-diameter <br /> schedule 40 PVC perforated with 0.01-inch or 0.02-inch machine slots. Ile <br /> screen slot size will be chosen at the time of drilling based on field <br /> observations and boring logs. <br /> 3. The bottom of the well screen will be capped with a 2-inch-diameter PVC <br /> end cap. <br /> -inch diameter schedule 40 PVC wel. casing will <br /> 4. Approximately 10 feet of 2 <br /> be set from the top of the screen to the ground surface. Sections will be <br /> joined by flush-mounted threads. No solvents or glues will be used to sea! <br /> joints. <br /> 5. The annular space between the,screen and the wall-of the boring will be <br /> backfilled with clean Lone Star Industries 0/30 or 2/12 Monterey sand to <br /> approximately 2 feet above the to* of the perforated sections. The filter <br /> p <br /> pack will be chosen based on the screenslot size chosen. <br /> 6. A 3-to S-foot bentonite plug will be placed above the sand pack using <br /> bentonite pellets to provide a seat against surface water infiltration. <br /> 7. The remaining annular space will be filled with cement/bentonite grout, <br /> introduced through a tremie pipe to the ground surface. <br /> 8. Thewellwill be secured in locking standpipes. <br /> The general construction details for the well are shown on Plate 3. <br /> Monitoring Well Develo1)MeJn <br /> The well will be developed by surging and air-lifting to repair damage to the formation <br /> caused by drilling and to increase the effective hydraulic radius of the wells. Surging along <br /> the screened interval of the well is performed to draw the sediment from the formation into <br /> the filter pack and the well and to set the sand pack.
