W. Beck and Associates,Preliminary Draft of the Final Design Study Report for
the.Austin Road Landfill Expansion, November 1992.
Sewage Sludge
Approximately 13,000 tons per year of sewage sludge is generated by the City Regional
Wastewater Control Facility. The sludge is dried to a minimum 50 percent solids and stockpiled
at the generating facility for future agricultural land application. The City's Source Reduction
and Recycling Element(ERRE)proposes that a sewage sludge composting program be
developed in the mid-term planning period at a site to be determined. Therefore, sewage sludge
is not accepted at the Austin Road Landfill.
II.18
