San Joaquin County
staff has previously indicated the County's interests with respect to leachate migration from the
existing landfill and the potential for increased migration due to the proposed expansion project.
The current Report of Disposal Information, Waste Discharge Requirements and proposed
conditions for the Solid Waste Facility Permit appear to address the County's concerns in this
matter.
San Joaquin County does not object to the proposed landfill expansion. However,we request
that your agency appropriately condition any future modification to permits or concurrences to
assure adequate protection of our groundwater resources. Further, we request that your Board
notify San Joaquin County concerning any proposed changes to the Operating Permit or%Vaste
Discharge Requirements for the Austin Road Sanitary Landfill.
Ve ruly yours,
GEORGE L.
