TONNAGE AT AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILL,
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (Case No. 2148)
From your letter of 15 November 2000 and our telephone conversations we understand that Forward
Incorporated request an increase to the daily waste acceptance rate for Austin Road Landfill. They want
to increase the rate to 2200 tons per day in order to fill remaining permitted air space and construct a
landfill cap during the 2001 construction season. The Regional Board does not anticipate any problems
from the increased waste acceptance rate and concurs with the county's plan to issue a Stipulated Notice
and Order allowing the increase. Board staff requests that the county include a time limit for waste
acceptance of 30 April 2001. This allows ample time to complete construction of an intermediate
landfill cap during the 2001 construction season.
If you have any questions please call me at(916) 255-3814.
ROSS D.
