(CASE NO. 2148) <br /> This letter follows up our phone conservation of 17 March 2000 and your letter of 23 March 2000. You <br /> request postponement of any submittals concerning Austin Road and French Camp Landfills until after <br /> the ownership change. The letter asked that Forward, Inc. be given until 15 August 2000 to respond to <br /> our requests. <br /> We agree to the requested postponement. This will allow Forward, Inc. ample time to complete the sale <br /> and familiarize themselves with the issues at Austin Road and French Camp Landfills. It is important to <br /> note that the board wants address the corrective action issue at Austin Road Landfill as soon as possible <br /> Additionally, it is important to remember that repairs to the cover at Austin Road will be required prior <br /> to the 2000—2001 rainy season. The repairs shall include: <br /> 1. Re-grade the top deck so that it prevents ponding and sheds rain. <br /> 2. Repair erosion damage to Littlejohns Creek where it threatens to undercut the access road <br /> on the south side of the landfill. <br /> 3. Upgrade the drainage control structures on the side slope to prevent future erosion of the <br /> side slope cover.
