SECTION 2-SITE OPERATIONS PLAN Page 2-24 0
2.4.2 Leachate Collection System Maintenance
The leachate collection system will be periodically inspected to ensure that the collection lines are
operating properly. When required, the pipes will be unclogged and cleaned. All collection lines
provided with cleanouts will be cleaned at least once per year. Collection line clean-outs and
manholes will be used to access the lines for this pericdic inspection and cleaning. For more
details, see the discussion under Leachate Control in Section 1.3, above.
2.4.3 Road Maintenance
The entrance road and all (in use) access roads to the landfill will be periodically inspected to
ensure that they are free from obstructions, pot-holes, subsidence and erosion, mud, dust, and
are clearly sign-posted.
2.4.4 Gas Monitoring System Maintenance
Maintenance of the landfill gas system is discussed in the environmental monitoring section.
2.4.5 Inspection Forms
Tables 2-4 and 2-5 show an example inspection form and inspection guidance form that may be
used to facilitate the periodic landfill inspections.
R.W.Ba"ana Associates My of Stockton
1811.12
