LANDFILL GAS MANAGEMENT
Quarterly sampling of 23 monitoring wells -- sample, analysis and
report. Assuming that analysis can be done by a qualified
technician with field instruments, cost is estimated at $1, 000 per
round.
3 . COST
(4 x $1, 000) _ $4,000
GROUNDWATER MONITORING
It is assumed that there will be 4 monitoring wells in the WDR
requirements at closure and monitoring will be required on a
quarterly basis. one quarterly testing would also include VOC
analysis. The cost for quarterly collection and analysis by a
certified laboratory is $250 each, and quarterly analysis with VOCs
is $600 per well.
4. COST
($250 X 4 X 4) + ($600 X 4 X 4) _ $13,600
VADOSE ZONE MONITORING
It is assumed that there will be 9 lysimeter stations to be
monitored and the monitoring frequency and cost for monitoring will
be the same as for ground water. No replacement cost is
anticipated.
5. COST
($250 X 9 X 4) + ($600 X 9 X 4) _ $30,600
FINAL COVER MAINTENANCE
Costs will include materials, labor, and repair of final cover due
to erosion, settling, or subsidence. It can be assumed that the
cost for one equipment crew at $700 per day could do the necessary
work in 2 weeks annually. Excess soils necessary for maintaining
final grades will be generated during normal operations. They
will be strategically stockpiled for use. The acquisition of soils
will not be a cost factor for maintenance of final cover grades.
6. COST
($700 X 10) _ $7, 000
5
