INTRODUCTION <br /> San Joaquin County is submitting this fourth quarter and annual 2002 monitoring report for the <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill (FSL) in compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) , <br /> Order No. 94-258. WDRs were issued by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, <br /> Central Valley Region, on September 16, 1994. The FSL is a Class IlI landfill which accepts only <br /> Class III municipal solid waste. <br /> The FSL is located in eastern San Joaquin County on Waverly Road, four miles east of Linden, <br /> CA(Figure 1). Waste disposal quantities for the fourth quarter are as follows (Figure 2): <br /> MONTH REFUSE DISPOSAL <br /> (TONS) <br /> October 2002iF 27,737 ' <br /> November 2002 IF 24,922 <br /> December 2002 =F 24,724 , <br /> MONITORING PROGRAM <br /> Water quality was monitored consistent with WDR Order No. 94-258. <br /> Groundwater <br /> The groundwater well network consists of upgradient well MW-1 and downgradient wells MW-2 ' <br /> and MW-3 (Figure 3). All of the groundwater monitoring wells are equipped with dedicated <br /> purge and sampling pumps. <br /> Groundwater samples are analyzed for the following quarterly monitoring and field parameters as <br /> specified in WDR Order No. 94-258: <br /> • Temperature 0 Chloride <br /> • Electrical conductivity 0 Sulfate , <br /> • pH 0 Nitrate-nitrogen <br /> • Turbidity • Volatile Organic Compounds <br /> • Total dissolved solids <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill Department of Public Works/Solid Waste <br /> 4'"Quarter and Annual 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Report 1 County of San Joaquin <br />
