Wood Bros. continued to place geotextile, weld and place the 4"
slotted pipe with 2-3" of pea gravel under the pipe then backfilled to within V of the finish grade utilizing
the skip loader and the backhoe in the northern and eastern soil gas trench. Wood Bros. had 7 loads of 3/8"
+pea gravel from Granites Tracy plant delivered to the site. Wood Bros. utilized the Case tractor to remove
sandy material from the southern slope and replace with some silty material for a more stable subgrade and
easier compaction. Wood Bros. excavated the lysimeter trench for LZ#2 utilizing the John Deere backhoe.
Industrial fence augured fencepost holes for the eastern fence utilizing the Bobcat with auger.
Krazan drilled Lysimeters 1-4. Krazan installed Lysieters LZ#1 / LZ#4. No inspector from the County was
available as due to strike.
D&E unloaded 1 load of geocomposite liner material totaling approximately 46,400$2 today.
Vector Engineering, Inc. CQA observed processing, compaction and tested compaction of the foundation
layer material placed in the sump area. CQA performed several density tests with all tests meeting the
required specifications. CQA observed pipe welding, geotextile placement and backfill of the soil gas system
with 3/8" pea gravel. CQA observed excavation of the Lysimeter trench in sump. CQA observed drilling and
installation of lysimeter #4. CQA observed and logged liner materials delivered to the site.
Vector discussed with Wood bros. will continue placement of gravel, welding of pipe and excavation of the soil gas trenches. Wood bros. will
MC% and compact the sump area today and Industrial fence will be on site to start the eastern fence. Krazan will be on site today for the
lysimeter installation. CQA discussed with Tony of Wood Bros. when they where going to finish grading the north slope tony said that the grader
would not stay on the slope.
