Wood Bros. utilized the water truck and D5CXL <br />dozer to moisture condition, rip, track walk and process the subgrade material on the eastern slope. Wood <br />Bros. continued to excavate the soil gas system trenches along the eastern and western toe of slope and <br />started the anchor trench on the north west corner of Module 1 utilizing Valley Trenching J57 trencher. <br />Wood Bros. continued to place geotextile, weld and place the 4" slotted pipe with 2-3" of pea gravel under <br />the pipe then backfilled to within 1' of the finish grade utilizing the skip loader and the backhoe in the <br />eastern and western soil gas trenches. Wood Bros. had 4 loads of 3/8" pea gravel from Granites Tracy plant <br />delivered to the site. Wood Bros. utilized the Case tractor to remove sandy material from the southern slope <br />and replace with some clayey silt material from the borrow area and to cut the foundation layer to finish <br />grade. Wood Bros. excavated the 2nd V ditch off the north toe of slope a minimum of 2'. <br />Industrial fence continued to excavate fencepost holes down to a depth of 3' utilizing the Bobcat with auger. <br />Krazan started placing the grout for the soil gas wells. Krazan installed Lysimeters LZ#3 and half of LZ#2 <br />due to 1 of the bored holes had some spoils fall into it. Krazan will bring a hand auger tomorrow to clean the <br />hole. Ted Tasiopoulos from Enviromental health was on site today. <br />Vector Engineering, Inc. CQA observed processing, compaction and tested compaction of the foundation <br />layer material placed in the soil gas trenches and the V ditches. CQA performed several density tests with all <br />tests meeting the required specifications. CQA observed pipe welding, geotextile placement and backfill of <br />the soil gas system with 3/8" pea gravel. CQA observed installation of lysimeter LZ#3 and portions of LZ#2. <br />Vector discussed with Wood bros. will continue placement of gravel, welding of pipe and excavation of the soil gas trenches.
