Wood
bros continued to grade the drainage aggregate for the LCRS system utilizing the D6LGP. Wood Bros.
continued placement of operations material utilizing the 140 grader to windrow material in stockpile 1 and
the 623 paddle wheel to haul the material to the floor with the D5CXL spreading it a minimum of 2' thick
across the floor to construct the access ramp.
Surveyors group Inc to verify thickness o the drainage aggregate and set points for the county.
D&E prior to installation of liner materials smooth drum rolled the subgrade. D&E continued installation of
GCL rolls with a minimum of 351bs peel and 60mil double textured liner. D&E started continued to deploy
on the northeastern floor of Module 1. D&E installed a total of 38 panels of GCL totaling approximately
83,529ft2 and 8 panels of geomembrane totaling approximately89,914ft2 all panels were overlapped and
seamed per specifications. D&E performed air tests on the seams welded on 9-16/9-17. D&E placed
sandbags as ballast on the liner edges prior to leaving the site.
Vector Engineering, Inc. CQA observed grading and pulled a sample for testing on the LCRS drainage
aggregate imported today. CQA observed some dirty drainage aggregate and had Wood Bros. removed the
clods of soil and push the material to an area until #200 washes could be performed to verify conformance to
specifications. CQA observed and logged subgrade acceptance, panel deployment, seaming, repairs and air
tests performed on the liner materials. CQA marked and pulled 10 destructive samples with DS#92 failing.
CQA informed D&E whom pulled samples A, B, C and D at 15', 30', 60' and 185' north of DS#92 on seam
198/199 with A, B, C failing. Sample D pulled at 185' off the south end of seam passed. D&E will Cap strip
the southern 185' of seam 198/199. CQA pulled destructive samples on the seam welded by the seamer and
machine prior and after the failing tests with both meeting the required specifications. CQA observed
placement and grading of the operations material.
Vector discussed with Wood Bros. Granites pea gravel had some dirt in a couple of loads this morning and should not be spread out until tests
performed and passing specifications. Wood Bros agreed and placed next to the 4'h ramp.
0
File Name: Foothill Landfill Prepared By: Frank Dell -Era Reviewed B
