J
Foothill Sanitary Landfill — Module 1 December 2003
County of San Joaquin Job No. 031602.00.02
• Field Panel Placement
During the panel placement, Vector's CQA onitor(s) kept panel deployment logs.
These logs recorded the location (panel number and roll number), installation schedule
(date and time), weather conditions (temperature and wind), and GCL type. These
panel deployment logs are presented within Appendix I. To protect the GCL, HDPE
liner was deployed concurrently with the GCL placement. Deployment was performed
in general conformance with the project specifications.
5.2.3 Defects and Repairs
Vector's CQA Monitor inspected all seams and non -seam areas of the GCL for defects,
holes, displaced panels, premature hydration, and any sign of contamination by foreign
material.
All defects were recorded as part of the daily construction report prepared by Vector's
CQA Monitor. Appropriate repairs were completed prior to installation of the overlying
HDPE material.
5.3 Geomembrane
5.3.1 Geomembrane Material
The 60 -mil high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane manufactured by GSE
was used in the liner system for Module 1.
5.3.1.1 Receiving Inspection
Upon arrival by truck shipment, the unloading and storage of the geomembrane rolls
were observed by Vector's CQA Monitors. Each roll of geomembrane was logged in by
roll number and the roll numbers then cross-checked against the quality control
documents provided by the supplier, GSE. Following this inspection and approval, the
material was released to the Contractor for installation. A copy of the log of
geomembrane received has been included in Appendix J. The manufacturer's QC data
have also been included within Appendix J.
Vector Engineering, Inc. - 143E Spring Hill Drive - Grass Valley, CA 95945 • (530) 272-2448
25
