Groundwater samples are analyzed every 5 years for the following Constituents of Concern (COCs): • Total Organic Carbon • Inorganics (dissolved) • VOCs (extended list) • Semivolatile Organic Compounds • Chlorophenexy Herbicides • Organophosphorous Compounds ' Surface Water Surface water samples are collected after the first storm of the rainy season that produces significant flow and semiannually thereafter when water is present from monitoring points S-1 (upstream) and S-2 (downstream) of the landfill(see Figure 3). Surface water samples are analyzed for the following monitoring and field parameters semiannually: • Temperature 0Chloride • Electrical Conductivity • Sulfate • pH 0 Nitrate-Nitrogen • Turbidity 0Calcium • Total Dissolved Solids 0 Magnesium • Carbonate Alkalinity 0 Sodium • Bicarbonate Alkalinity 0 Potassium • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Surface water samples are also analyzed for the following COCs every 5 years: • Total Organic Carbon • Inorganics(dissolved) • VOCs (extended list) • Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds • Chlorophenoxy Herbicides • Organophosphorous Comounds Constituents of Concern Both groundwater and surface water samples are analyzed for constituents of concern(COCs) every five years (Appendix E). The last five year COC groundwater monitoring event occurred in the fourth quarter of 1999. The next monitoring event will occur during the fourth quarter of 2004. Surface water samples were last analyzed for COCs during the first quarter 2000 monitoring event. The next monitoring event for surface water will occur during the first quarter of 2005.
