- The rainfall intensity, I. This will be obtained from the Intensity-Duration-Frequency
tables in the hydrology manual. As necessary, Inlet Time or time of Concentration
(t)will be assessed to determine the applicable intensity, I, for each calculation.
-
Contributory drainage subareas, Ax. This will be delineated and measured on each
module plan for the drainage analyses.
2. Conveyance Facilities - Ditches and drainage pipes will be sized for peak design flows,
and the potential for erosion will be assessed. Ditch lengths predicted to have excessive
' erosion will be lined with appropriate erosion control measures. Use of select cobbles or
inert waste material from on-site sources will be used where appropriate.
3. Vegetation_ -The soil cover will be vegetated with native plants or compatible species.
The partial cover soil will be analyzed by Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation for areas
of potential excessive soil loss and protected with appropriate surface control measures.
1
5.0 Partial Cover and Drainage Plan
The"Partial Cover and Drainage Plan" for Module"I"will include:
1. A topographic map at suitable scale by aerial photometric methods or by land surveying.
Contours will be provided in two-foot intervals. The survey will be on the basis of
previously used survey monuments.
2. Verification of the thickness and characteristics of existing soil cover at select locations.
This will be accomplished by excavation(probably by hand)through the existing cover
to verify cover thickness. Excavations will be perpendicular to the landfill slope. The
results of this investigation will be presented in a map, identifying areas requiring
additional fill, if any.
3. Verification of the adequacy of the existing drainage and identify improvements needed.
' Supportive drainage calculations will be appended.
4. Assessment of the need for a slope stability analysis for the unlined refuse fill. Stability
analysis will be performed if needed.
- 5. The estimated timetable for design and construction of improvements,if competitive
bidding is needed.
October 28,2003 4 Foothill Sanitary Landfill
Partial Cover Workplan Public Works/Solid Waste
