�J <br />constructed at a minimum 0.5 percent slope. The maximum final landfill slope will be 6 percent <br />along the perimeter to prevent drainage slope reversal from landfill settlement. <br />The cover will be designed to meet Title 27 standards or an approved engineering alternative. <br />The cover will consist of prescriptive soil layers or other alternative cover acceptable to the <br />regulators at the time of closure. The County has proposed use of evapo-transpirative closure <br />cover. <br />The final design will include a system of surface drainage facilities to control stormwater runon <br />and runoff during construction and operation, and after completion of the landfill. These <br />facilities will consist of ditches, culverts, and oversize drains. The project design will address <br />erosion issues by limiting water velocities and using erosion control structures (downdrains, etc) <br />where necessary. Stormwater drainage basins will receive the majority of surface water runoff <br />from the landfill areas before discharge to the natural drainage channel. <br />Both the initial construction and final cover and any later repair work that involves the cover's <br />low hydraulic conductivity layer will be completed in accordance with an approved construction <br />quality assurance plan. <br />Foothill Sanitary Landfill <br />JTD <br />Page 38 of 62 Public Works/Solid Waste <br />County of San Joaquin — Revised 10/6/05 <br />
