BIOTICS (1) POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT PRESENCE OF SQUIRRELS RATS AND FLIES Due to the nature of sold waste handling activities, squirrels, rats, and flies are attracted to the acisting facility. This activity is currently conducted in an open area without benefit of a controlled environment. The proposed expansion Project will brim the solid waste handling operation into an enclosed building for which vector controls can be established. Findings: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect as identified in the Final EIR. Statement of Fact: The impact will be reduced by the : Confine the waste handling operation to the Transfer Building. All doors, windows,and inscreened openings should remain closed unless actually in use. Provide pest control services around the perimeter of the building as necessary. H. UGHT AND GLARE (1) POTENnALLY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT: LIGHT AND GLARE ON NEARBY RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES Although the transfer facility is not wpxled to operate during nighttime hours, I is likely to utilize lighting for security Purposes. In addition, area fighting may be utilized in the outdoor recycling area and transfer trailer parking area.
